SUMMER FOR THE CITY GATHER BY AMANDA PHINGBODHIPAKKIYA
Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya, a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist, educator, and activist, draws inspiration from her Thai and Indonesian heritage. Her art, spanning sculpture, murals, installations, and public campaigns, transforms spaces into symbols of healing and belonging.
Through community engagement and personal narratives, Amanda creates a reciprocal artistic ecosystem, fostering connections and vulnerability. Through her use of textile, metal, wood, and dreams, she weaves a process marked by ceremony and ritual, encouraging expansive thinking and new possibilities.
GATHER: A series of monuments and rituals reclaimed the outdoor spaces of Lincoln Center, filling the campus with color, light, dimension, and heart.
